  • 2014 So Far

2014 started off with a bang! In January, Vox brought The Reluctant Lesbian up to Northern Stage for their innaugural New Works Now Festival. Kate has conitnued to work on the piece, and Marina McClure directed this iteration. We're now beginning to shop it around to Regional Theaters for a full production somewhere. Stay tuned with that.

Kate, Thom, and I are also in the process of selecting plays for VoxFest 2014, and raising the last bit of money. We received around 20 submissions, and selecting five from the bunch proved very difficult due to the high quality of the work. Not a bad problem to have.

I also just finished shooting a short film last weekend--I posted a still in the prior update--and am eager to see the final product.

Lastly, New Place Players is remounting Twelfth Night, and I'm reprising the role of Orsino. We're also slated to start rehearsals in late March for A Midsummer Night's Dream, in which I'll be playing Theseus and Oberon. Very excited to get to work on that! Midsummer has long been a favorite--incidentally, I played Theseus/Oberon in college. It should be fun to revisit the roles.

  • A Summary of 2013

Much happened during 2013, with a lot of promising work on the horizon. To name just a few highlights:

-I began the year playing Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest at Northern Stage.

-My theater company, Vox Theater, hosted a writers' workshop in in Hanover, NH. We then returned to Hanover in July to produce VoxFest, a festival of new works. Check out for more information.

-I acted in the world premiere of Timothy Prager and Geoff Morrow's musical, A Legendary Romance, at The New London Barn Playhouse, directed by Carol Dunne.

-I acted in an adaptation of Madame Bovary in New York.

-New Place Players restaged Twelfth Night, presenting it at Casa Duse in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. (The show will continue to be performed throughout 2014.)
